I have dedicated my legal career to defending people in times of trouble. I offer quality legal counsel, honed with over 20 years of experience in the field of criminal defense. I am committed to providing you with the very best in legal representation.
When looking for an attorney, you want one that carries a lifetime of experience into the courtroom, because that’s where your case will be resolved. You don’t want an attorney with limited experience because, rest assured, the attorneys prosecuting the case against you know their job. Don’t handicap your chances of winning.
An experienced criminal attorney must know the criminal law inside out. He must know the facts of your case and then apply those facts to the law. If the attorney is not well versed in the law, or the facts of your case, you are in trouble. This is critical because the evaluation of your case will determine what direction the case should go: If the facts and law are not favorable for you and you might be convicted, negotiation with the State might be in order to work out a favorable solution--This is where experience plays a crucial role because the attorney must know what a reasonable solution is based upon the law and facts — Your attorney must bring all his knowledge and experience to bear in order to effectively advocate on your behalf and explore every option that may be available. Even so, sometimes a case must go to trial. If it does, you don’t want an attorney with limited trial experience anymore than you want to be your heart surgeon’s first operation.
An experienced criminal attorney must know the law and know when the police have violated your legal rights. Properly objecting to a violation of your rights can prevent the presentation of prejudicial evidence against you in court, weaken the prosecution’s case and ultimately result in the case against you being dismissed. If your lawyer isn’t dedicated to ferreting out such police misconduct, you pay the price.
During my 20 years plus, I have represented thousands of clients against a wide variety of charges. Folks from all walks of life. I have won numerous motions to suppress evidence resulting in my client's case being dismissed. For example, I won a motion to suppress evidence involving possession of more than a kilo of cocaine; another involving an illegal pat down of my client which led to his charge of felon in possession of a firearm being dismissed and yet another involving a defective search warrant of a motel room “meth lab.” Additionally, I have had many favorable rulings challenging Miranda Rights violations and suppression of police interrogations due to police misconduct.
I have tried hundreds of cases and obtained not guilty verdicts for my clients that were charged with murder, capital murder, attempted capital murder, assault, aggravated sexual assault, burglary, indecent exposure, DWI, domestic violence and many more. All cases are different and most cases are resolved by dismissal or negotiated disposition. I have a number of not guilty verdicts as well as verdicts returned on lesser charges and for probation and lower sentences than were offered by the prosecution. While no guarantee can ever be made on the outcome of a specific case, my record of success does go to show that I always take the charges against my clients very seriously, that I work hard and never stop advocating on their behalf.
I have a well-deserved reputation of excellence in providing smart, sensible and effective legal counsel. Its a reputation I am proud of, and one that I take great strides to maintain.
I stay abreast of ever-changing laws and have developed the skills necessary to defend you. With over 20 years of experience, I know how to use the law for you
I am committed to giving you effective, aggressive legal representation. I have a history of providing successful, effective representation.
